Sesame Street presents The Body Exhibit at The Discovery Science Center

Last week we had the opportunity to explore Sesame Street presents” the body” exhibit at the Discovery Science Center. If you love Sesame Street and a good time then you definitely want to check this supremely fun exhibit. My   kiddos were in Sesame Street heaven from the moment they walked in.

Sesame Street presents “the body”  will let your kiddos play their way through the exhibit while learning all about the human body!  Your little ones will learn all about making the healthiest food choices by shopping in   Hooper’s Store.

My son LOVED Ernie’s Rub a Dub Tub display. This informative and fun display will teach your kiddos hands on all about hand washing and personal hygiene.

Your kiddos will also learn all about their insides and outsides through various displays that feature Elmo, Oscar, Grover and the Count. See what happens to food at Oscar’s Digestion and Count your organs at the Count’s Organ Organ.

You can also learn all about the different body parts you can see, like your hands, your feet and your head. Learn what they do and put them to use by  helping  Elmo ride a bike or see how high you can make Grover jump.

Elmo will be meeting and greeting everyone on the weekends. I have to admit that I was star struck! We loved meeting Elmo and being able to take a few pictures with him.

Sesame Street presents “The Body” will be at the Discovery Science Center until May 29th. If you are looking for something fun to do with the kiddos this is it! To learn more about the exhibit head over here.

Centennial Farm – Always Fun and Free

The Centennial Farm is a real working farm. They have cows, chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens and other animals. You can get up close and pet many of them. There are also live demonstrations during the week.

The best park is that admission to the Centennial Farm and parking are Free, unless there is a special event going on. Centennial Farms is open:

Searching Safari at the Los Angeles Zoo

Last Saturday, the kiddos and I woke up bright and early, packed a bag and headed up to the Los Angeles Zoo for a special event.  Searching Safari is a special annual scavenger hunt  that is hosted by the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association for Safari Club members.

We started the day with a yummy breakfast, followed by some very fun face painting and a special owl interaction. Then it was time for a great scavenger hunt. There were two trails set up. One for the  older children/teens and another one for preschool aged children. We were given a clue card with a photo and off we went. The kiddos had a great time trying to figure out the clues.  Our first animal/pit stop on our hunt was a flamingo. The kids loved  trying to figure out the clues and were ecstatic every time we found one.  At each animal stations the kiddies received a zoo themed prize.

The Searching Safari ended at the Elephant Plaza, which is home to the Elephants of Asia new habitat. Saturday was the Los Angeles Zoo Snow Day and we were able to enjoy  watching the Elephants and other animals discover snow.

We loved every minute of this very special experience. Exploring the Zoo before it opened to the public was pretty spectacular. It almost seemed like we had the zoo to ourselves.  I learned that members of the Los Angeles Zoo are able to experience events like this by supporting the zoo. This event was exclusive to members of the Safari Club (those donating $1500) or more. There are various level of memberships and different special events for each level. The best part is that the memberships are tax deductible!
