The weekend is here and I will be posting about some pretty fun little happenings this Father’s Day Weekend.  Before I posted I wanted to share about two very fun events that will be happening this weekend. One will be taking place in Huntington Beach and the other at The Grove in LA.

First is the Summer Splash Party at the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach. This fun party is open to the public and is so much fun! I’ve taken the kiddos twice and we’ve had such a great time. The Sunset Splash party  is from 7-10pm.  It’s a night of family fun featuring music from Stone Soul. Kids and parents are welcome  to fire pits and of course swimming. There are cocktail specials, good food, dancing, a great live band and prizes and giveaways.  It’s such an awesome way to wind down after a hectic week, and the kids love it too because they can swim, dance, and roast marshmallows. My kiddos love roasting the marshmallows. We actually found a pit outside the pool area that was pretty secluded and had a great time making smores and we have awesome branded bottled water as an extra detail for fun. It’s a fun party and really all you have to pay for is for parking, which is $10.50 for valet parking.  Don’t forget to bring a bathing suit and towels!

Another fun event is taking place at the Grove this Saturday. If you love cook offs or cooking shows and you will be by the Grove, you might want to check this out. After a nationwide search for the best Dole inspired grilling recipe, three contestants will compete in the 2011 Annual California Cook-Off at the Grove! Watch the chefs battle it out in front of Celebrity Chef Ben Ford and a panel of guest judges for the Cook-Off Champion title.  And stick around for the opportunity to win a grill from BBQ Galore in addition to other prizes and giveaways every half hour. There will be an appearance from Dole’s Bobby Banana and other fun things for the kiddos. The event starts at 11am and runs ’til 3pm.
