Sports outings can be amazing family outings. Carissa shares the fun memories she has created with her little family with the Anaheim Ducks.
Our family loves hockey! We are so fortunate to live in a place that has so many great sports teams within a 30 minute drive. We are partial to the Ducks and have occupied the same seats at every home game for the past 4 years. We’ve been taking our daughter to hockey since she was 5 months old and now, 3 years later, she loves it as much as we do. Going to Ducks games is one of our favorite things to do together as a family.
Hockey is a great sport for kids of all ages as there is always something going on. The game moves quickly and is fairly easy to follow and there are several built-in breaks every 20 minutes. In between periods there’s always on-ice entertainment, games, the fan-cam, etc. Families of all ages are in attendance and join together to cheer on their team. Any seat is a good seat and we find that we like sitting up high the best as you can see the whole rink and follow the game at both ends of the ice.
Currently the Ducks are offering a “Pepsi Family 4-Pack” that includes tickets to the game, a hot dog, and drink for $29 each. The Family 4-packs are available for Sunday games through March and start at 5pm. We find we are usually home by 8:30pm.
In addition to having fun at the game itself, you can come up to 2 hours early and enjoy “the hockey-spot”. The Hockey Spot is geared for kids and is a fun place to try playing a little street hockey, jump in the bounce house, meet Wild Wing, play foose-ball, and win prizes. The Hockey Spot is a great place to let the kids get some energy out and get a feel for hockey.

Carissa is a blessed Mommy of a pretty amazing 2 1/2 year old. She works part-time as a Child Life Specialist in the Pediatric Emergency Department at a local children’s hospital. She is excited to share with you some great places she has found and hopefully help provide some really fun family days for you and your little (and big) ones!
