Eating Your Greens

Do your kiddos eat their greens? We have mixed eaters in our family. My son absolutely loves salad. He wants to order it every time we head out for dinner. He actually asks me to make him some on a pretty much daily basis and I more than gladly oblige. I sometimes have to pinch myself that I have a salad and vegetable loving kiddo. My daughter on the other hand is quite a different story. You have to pretty much pour a cup of dressing or a cup of raisins before she will take a bite. I’m slowly but surely incorporating it in to her lunches and meals and she’s finally starting to come around.

We had a salad bar in the previous school they both attended, but unfortunately since we  moved to a new school district, this is no longer the case. Our new school does not have a salad bar and I sure wish it did.

Whole Food is trying to make sure that children will have access to fruits and veggies by helping put salad bars in local schools. Tomorrow Sunday, September 9th, Whole Foods Whole Foods Market will donate $1 for every pound of food purchased in their salad and hot food bars in its Southern Pacific region stores (Southern California, Hawaii, Arizona & Las Vegas). Whole Food through their Whole Kids Foundation wants to make sure that every child has the opportunity to eat their greens and have access to healthy and nutritious food.

The Whole Kids Foundation supports Salad Bars to Schools, which is a grassroots effort to help increase salad bars in schools across the country until every child has the choice of healthy fruits and vegetables every day at school! I love that Whole Food is supporting this great organization and I can’t wait to help support them tomorrow, because every child deserves to have access to fruits and veggies!

I would love for every child to have access to a salad bar and as a parent who part of the week sends lunch and the rest of the week buys lunch, I would love for my children and yours  to have access to fruits and vegetables.  I can’t wait to support Whole Foods tomorrow!

Disclosure: This is part of a sponsored campaign with Whole Foods. However, I fully support this campaign and think it is absolutely wonderful!
