Time Saving Tips and MyTimeHeroes.com

There never seems to be enough hours in the day. I find myself on most days wishing there was an extra hour or two in the day. I’ve also joked about cloning myself, but then figure, my clone would wind up just as busy as me!

I’m trying a few things this year, to save time and I have to say that most of what has worked revolves around being more organized and planning ahead.  Here are some thing that I’ve done to save time:

  • Plan out my meals a week before and shop accordingly. Having a set menu helps me avoid the whole”What am I doing for dinner tonight” stress
  • Lay out the kids clothes for school, the night before. Avoids the morning drama.
  • Prep the kids backpacks the night before
  • Have a set schedule for house work. Monday is the bathroom, Tuesday the kitchen, etc..  I also pick up once in the morning and once in the late evening after the kids have gone off to bed. It helps me keep my sanity.

I’ve been able to obtain some great ideas on pinterest.com and also using time saving apps.

ServiceMaster, one of the world’s largest residential and commercial service networks, has a new website, mytimeheroes.com, that can help you become more productive.  The website offers expert timesaving tips for homeowners, and encourages consumers to share their own best timesaving techniques.

Busy people can tap into valuable advice from time and labor saving experts, take a quick survey to identify time-dragging tasks, and share what they’d do if they could get back “lost hours.”  Survey participants also have a chance to win one of three weekly $150 prizes – or a $500 grand prize – all while learning to do more in less time with less stress. I took the survey, it was fast, easy and I’m always game to take part of anything that can possibly get me some extra cash.
