There have been many changes in healthcare and it can be extremely confusing for so many of us, especially for our older loved ones. I know my parents are having a difficult time trying to sort it all out. My mani called me a few weeks ago asking if I knew all about the changes to Medicare and her health plans. Have you heard of Medicare Part D? Until just a short weeks ago, neither had I.

Medicare Plan D allows anyone on Medicare Part A or Part B to drug coverage. It’s a great program because everyone on Medicare qualifies. Income does not play a factor in qualifying for the coverage. You also can’t be denied for pre-existing commercials or just because your mom/dad/abuelo/abuela have a whole heck of a lot of prescriptions. Nope, they’re in! All you have to do is pay a monthly premium and transfer your prescription/s to your favorite pharmacy.

You can transfer your  elderly loved ones prescriptions to your local Walgreens. By switching to Walgreens your elderly family members can save  with copays as low as $0 on select plans.  They can also get refill reminders, access to to expert advisors, refill their prescriptions online at Walgreens.com , and much more.

Make sure to join @LatinaMomBlogs for the “What’s Med D? Twitter Party” on 2/5 from 9-10 pm ET to learn about prescription coverage options. #WalgreensLatino . RSVP HERE.
