Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

festival

Happy Sunday! I wanted to share about a classic LA event that is a must attend at least once with the family and is taking place next weekend. If you are looking for something fun, amazing, educational and did I mention FREE for the entire family, you have to check out the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The festival will be taking place next weekend April 12th and April 13th.  The Festival of Books is held at the University of Southern California’s Campus (USC).

The goal of the LA Times Festival of Books is to connect people that love books, with the people who wrote them. Simple as that! The festival is a free public event, and includes exciting author events, storytelling, cooking demonstrations and poetry readings. The Children’s Stage is being sponsored by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles and will feature readings by different authors. There will be also be a “dinosaur encounter” presented by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles.

There is something for everyone. Some of the featured authors this year are Giada de Laurentiis , Rachel Zoe, Alicia Silverstone, Marlo Thomas, Mayim Bialik, Jackie Collins, and many many more.

Admission is free.  Parking however is $10. It’s a fun all day event. Make sure to pack some water, walking shoes, and be prepared for a good time.
