Kids are Free In October at the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park

One of our favorite offers is back again this year!!

I like to make sure I get this post in pretty early to make sure you can plan accordingly. During the month of October  The San Diego Zoo and The San Diego Safari Park offer free admission to kids 3 to 11! Each year, from October 1–31, in honor of the Zoo’s founding, children ages 3–11 are admitted free to the Zoo and Safari Park when accompanied by an adult. That means an entire family can head to either park and only mom and dad, or mom or dad have to pay!

It’s a great time to visit either the park. The weather cools down, the summer tourists are gone, and it creates an ideal situation to visit either park.  We are proud members of the zoo, and honestly October is my absolute favorite time to visit the zoo. It’s so nice to not be in a crowded place and really get to enjoy the park without sweating up a storm. It actually can get a little chilly in the late afternoon, so make sure to pack a light jacket.

If you’ve been wanting to visit the San Diego Zoo or Zoofari Park, make sure to take advantage of Kids Free in October! You can’t beat FREE!

Disclosure: I participate in this oakleighs arrowsmith program on behalf of Champions for Kids and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.

Back to School is almost here. My kiddos head back to school next week and the students I teach head back to school the week after. The Summer break really flew by!!!  We’re wrapping up Summer with some fun outings and also by prepping for the new school year.  One of the things we are doing is making sure we give back to kiddos that go without this year.

Finding Cheap Books for our Classroom Library.

I teach Special Ed Language Arts. I can’t stress enough the importance of reading , especially for struggling students. I teach at a school in a lower income area and access to books is limited for most of my students. I have my own little library that allows the kiddos to check out books and also earn books as rewards for behaviors, attendance,etc..  The kids love it. I love that my sweet students have the opportunity to read and develop a love of reading.

We have asked the help of our friends and family to donate to our school and class. It was really easy to do. I wrote up a simple email and friends have been generously donated books to stock our little library. We also hit our local used bookstore and the bargain section of  a big chain bookstore for reasonably priced books.
