Winter Fun: Snow Tubing at Mt High/Wrightwood

I love going to Big Bear when we have the opportunity, but I have to be honest, I absolutely hate the drive. It makes me nervous, I get motion sickness, and it really makes me nervous when we have to drive in icy conditions. We had the opportunity to head up to Big Bear last week and although it was sunny and warm, the road still made me nervous. My sister has a cabin in Wrightwood and I love heading up there because it is an easy drive. No mountain driving and even when there is snow, it is very easy to maneuver. The drive to Wrightwood is also much much shorter.

If you’re looking for a fun day in the snow and don’t really want to drive too far, or deal with mountain driving, head over to Mt High in Wrightwood. North Pole Tubing Park is is the largest facility for snow tubing in Southern California with up to ten lanes, two moving carpets and custom tubes.

Peak times are mid morning to early afternoon. Make sure to get there early to avoid the crowds. The North Pole Tubing Park is open on weekend and holidays through mid March. It is open daily until January 4th.  The hours of operation are 9:30am to 4pm.

Admission is :

2-Hour: $20
Full Day: $35

36-42 Inches w/ paying adult: $15
Season Pass: $99

  • Tubes are included in the ticket price.
  • Children 36 to 42 inches must accompany a parent in a separate tube.
  • Children under 36 inches tall are not permitted for safety reasons.

It’s that time for many of us. The end of the year is coming and we’re all thinking of all of the changes we would like to make in the New Year. I know that we could start with changes any time of the year, but starting at beginning of the New Year is something that I love to do. I look with eager anticipation to the New Year and being able to make new changes. I don’t like to call them resolutions. I like to think of it as making goals for the New Year.

This year I want to really focus on my health and my appearance. I like to dress up everyday but I’m not always good with making sure my makeup is on. I like to at least have lipstick and mascara on. I have noticed that my eyelashes are thinning as I’m getting older and if you’re like , MinuteClinic can help those 18 an older through an eyelash lengthening consultation. And, if it’s right for you, prescribe LATISSE, an at-home treatment that can give you longer, fuller and thicker lashes. I have considered doing this for a long time, but I’m going to go in for a consultation this year and get some LATISSE. It’s all about feeling great!

The second thing on the top of my list is to lose some weight and get fit! This is the year I’m going to change my lifestyle and become more active. In addition to Eyelash Lengthening Services, MinuteClinic also offers comprehensive Weight Loss and Smoking Cessation programs, complete with personalized assessment, plan and ongoing coaching. I’m definitely going to go in for a Weight Loss consultation. I’ve never listened to the advice of consulting with a medical professional before starting any weight loss program and this year I’m going to do it right.

So what are some of your goals for the New Year? I would love to hear how you are planning for wellness in 2015!
