I love traditions. Our family has quite a few traditions throughout the year. Our Summer traditions are very special to us. We look forward to continuing and adding to our traditions. One of our traditions is making it out to the Hollywood Bowl and enjoying an evening out under the stars.

This year we had the opportunity to attend the Back To the Future 30th anniversary concert. We were treated to a night out enjoying this classic movie as the LA Philharmonic played in the background. It was a wonderful evening out. This year my dad the trek with us and had a great time. The season is underway and there are great shows coming up.

*   7/21 & 7/23 – Carmina Burana with Dudamel
*   7/22 – Sinatra´s 100th Birthday Celebration
*   7/28 – A Midsummer Night with Dudamel
*   7/30 – Mozart with Dudamel
*   8/7+8 – Sheryl Crow and Alex Cuba
*   8/19 – Buenavista Social Club with Diego El Cigala
*   9/4+5 – ET with John Williams
*   9/19 – ABBA: The Concert

Tickets start out at $13. You can bring in snacks, pack a picnic dinner and enjoy a great night out under the stars. This year we had dinner before the show and just brought in snacks/drinks. The kids had a great time and asked if we could go again before the season is over.

Netflix Summer Flix #StreamTeam

All we’ve heard all week is the excitement over the new Minons movie opening. In the spirit of those spriteful Minions, here are some fun films currently streaming on Netflix in July.

How to Train Your Dragon 2

Hiccup and Toothless make a life changing discovery in the adventure sequel.

Dragons: Race to the Edge

Speaking of Hiccup and Toothless, have you checked out this new series, exclusively on Netflix? 13 animated episodes to enjoy. The animation quality is top notch along with the messages presented in each episode.

The Croods

We loved this when we saw it in the theater. A prehistoric family is forced out of the cave home, which is something they rarely did before a big quake occurred. They learn more about the world outside and about themselves too.

The Boxtrolls

Similar to Minons, the Boxtrolls are a cute, quirky bunch. A human boy and his friend fight to save the Boxtrolls from certain doom.

These are just a few of the fun movies playing this month. So after a full day of playing out in the sun, grab some popcorn and ice cream and curl up on the couch with your kiddos for some quality family entertainment.
