CPK has some tasty new menu items and CPKids!

California Pizza Kitchen has always had a delicious menu and choices. Recently, the chain eatery unveiled its new menu and new environment. CPK is calling it the “Next Chapter” makeover, which is currently taking place at 80 different locations worldwide. We were invited to try out some of the newer menu additions.

Sunny Side Up Bacon and Potato Pizza. This was quite a unique dining experience with a pizza. It features  shaved fingerling potatoes placed on top of  apple-smoked bacon, with caramelized leeks, parmesan, mozzarella, and lots of fresh cracked pepper and all topped with two sunnyside up eggs. My husband recommends getting two more eggs to balance the whole thing out!

My meal was the Fire-Grilled Ribeye topped with “pinot noir-infused” sea salt and blue cheese butter. With a side of  fingerling potatoes and lemon garlic arugula salad, it was delicious.

The kids were able to toss their own dough and create their own pizzas. One made her own bbq chicken pizza and the other made himself a loaded hawaiian pizza. CPK offers a special program that allows kids to play chef and make their own pizza from the freshest ingredients, getting creative and learning about food along the way. Perfect for birthday parties, CPKids parties include a VIP-style behind-the-counter restaurant tour, a meal and dessert from the award-winning CPKids menu, souvenirs and a certificate for a free CPKids Meal for each child’s next visit.

The New CPK menu encourages diners to seek unique and seasonal flavor combinations with a Menu Adventure Guarantee: if a guest tries a new dish and is not satisfied, it will be replaced with his or her favorite item from the CPK menu. For those with specific dietary needs, CPK also has options that are under 650 calories, vegetarian or gluten-free. They also provide allergen information to those with food sensitivities. I love this time of year. It really is the most wonderful time of the year. I love being able to share with my children all that So Cal has to offer during the holidays. One thing that is definitely on our list and we can’t wait to experience later this month is the L.A. Zoo Lights.

The second annual L.A. Zoo Lights promises to be even bigger than last year.

You can :

  • Take a self-guided 60- to 90-minute tour of an expanded area of the Zoo featuring all-new animal-themed LED lights, lasers, 3D projections, and musical water-and-light display
  • Capture your holiday memories in a photo with Santa Claus in glittering new snow-covered setting on select dates
  • Get a glimpse of real reindeer
  • Warm up with hot cocoa and other holiday treats
  • And, enjoy free parking!

The only animals on display will be the reindeer at Reindeer Romp Village and critters within the L.A.I.R. The rest of the Zoo’s animals will be off exhibit and probably catching some zzzzs.

Tickets Prices are:

$13 for adults Mon-Thu, $11 for kiddos 2-12

$16 for adults Fri-Sun, $14 for kiddos 2-14

Kiddos under 2 are Free
