Last weekend I had the opportunity to run my first 5k ever and it was amazing!!! If you’ve read this blog for sometime, I might have shared that since January of last year, I have lost over 100 pounds. It hasn’t been easy but I’ve loved every minute of my weight loss journey. I’ve slowly started to run and can now run two to three miles without stopping. I’ve been itching to run a 5k and when the good people at 24 hour Fitness invited me to their Music Run, I jumped at the opportunity.
The Music Run festival experience includds the world’s loudest 5K course known as “The Sound Track,” complete with 120 speakers across five music-themed zones—Rock, Pop, Country, Hip Hop and Dance. I loved that I didn’t need to bring my headphones, I ran to the fun music along the way. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I hope that there is a Music Run next year because I can’t wait to do it again.

It was so fun. My friend Shelly and I arrived at the Pomona Fairgrounds and picked up our registration materials. Then we proceeded to the festival and warm up zone. It was so fun. Trainers from 24 hour fitness led the way to warm us up. We then hit the course. It was a blast and before I knew it, we had crossed the finish line.
After crossing the finish line, we hit the festival. It was so much fun. The festival featured live bands, DJs, dancers, chill out zones, giveaways and more! We had a blast and one of the best days of my life.
It also has me thinking about 24 Hour Fitness as a new club. I’m looking for a new gym and being at the run, really has made me rethink my fitness routine and push for more!
