Knott’s Merry Farm 2013

Now that we’re done with all that heat, it’s finally beginning to feel like the holidays around here in Southern California.  One of the family friendly places we like to visit during the holidays is Knott’s Berry Farm which transitions into Knott’s Merry Farm during November and December.  Knott’s is America’s oldest theme park and probably presents the Americana of Christmas better than anywhere else.

Calico Peanuts Gang

Knott’s Merry Farm really does bring about the feeling of returning home for the holidays during this time of the year. Create some memories for your children and bring them to experience this event.  This year there are some all new shows, such as the It’s Christmas Snoopy! Ice Show and Lucy’s Wish List at the Camp Snoopy Theater.  Also returning are the presentations of A Christmas Carol and Gift of the Magi inside the Birdcage Theater in Ghost Town.

Knott's Merry Farm and Santa

Santa’s Christmas Cabin

New for 2013 is Santa’s Christmas Cabin, where you can meet Santa and grab a picture. Also you can get a treat at Santa’s Sundae Bar or try some wine and craft beers for the adults.  Snoopy leads the nightly treat lighting ceremony.  The Christmas Crafts Fair also returns to Ghost Town throughout the holidays.  Try not to smile during the magic of the Christmas holiday at Knott’s, I dare you.

A great gift idea is some season passes, which boast unlimited visits in 2014.  They can be purchased online starting at $78.00 or with six easy installment payments of $13.00, for a limited time. Knott’s Season Pass program offers its members discounts, special Season Pass Holder events and more.

Metrolink Holiday Toy Express Train

We are in full holiday mode and that means the Metrolink Holiday Toy Express Train is coming to an area near you. For the 13th consecutive year, Santa’s glittering train will travel from city to city, entertaining families and collecting toys for those in need of some holiday goodwill. The 47-city tour will visit six counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, Orange, San Diego, and Los Angeles) and bring a brightly packaged gift to Metrolink communities—a 450-ton train decorated with holiday displays and 50,000 twinkling lights that delivers a live musical performance, Santa, and community fun.

While Santa’s sleigh is magic, his train can’t run in the rain. In the event of bad weather, please call Metrolink’s customer-service line at (800) 371-LINK (5465) to find out whether your hometown visit will be rescheduled
