T’is The Season at Knott’s #MerryFarm

Knott’s Merry Farm is once again been transformed into a magical wonderland just in time for Christmas. You may not know this but Monday through Thursday admission is free into the Christmas Crafts Village inside Ghost Town.

Knott's Christmas Crafts Village

On a recent visit to Knott’s Merry Farm we had the opportunity experience the news ice skate show Merry Christmas, Snoopy! The show is wonderful with ice dancing and features vignettes with Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy and Snoopy.  There is so much more entertainment around the park including a special Christmas show with the Peanuts gang in Camp Snoopy, Carolers and live performances of The Gift of the Magi and a Christmas Carol inside the Bird Cage Theater.

Knott’s has unique touches for the season all over the park.  We were really impressed and surprised when we came upon this Nativity scene located just behind Santa’s Workshop, across from Big Foot Rapids.

We also got to visit Santa’s workshop and tried some delicious pastries, cookies, eggnog and fresh roasted nuts. Knott’s Merry Farm is one of the best places to get the traditional American Christmas experience.

Be sure to stick around at night for the tree lighting ceremony and calico Square where you’ll get visits from all of your favorite beagle as well as some of Santa’s elves and toy soldiers.  After the tree lighting, walk on over into the Ghost Town’s Main Street to experience the all new light and snow experience.

The weather is cooling down (finally) and the holiday season is again upon us. One of the few places that still feels like the genuine nostalgic Christmas time of year is Knott’s Merry Farm.  What’s your favorite part of Knott’s Merry Farm?  Ours is to check out the live performances of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol or O. Henry’s A Gift of the Magi in an intimate setting of the historic Bird Cage Theatre.  We miss the old melodramas that used to play there and love still being able to catch live theater in Ghost Town.

No visit to Knott’s Merry Farm is complete without catching a performance by the world famous beagle, Snoopy as he performs a brand new ice spectacular, Merry Christmas, Snoopy! inside of the 2,100 Charles M. Schulz Theatre. Snoopy ice shows happen year round, but the Christmas show has always been our favorite and heck, even Santa makes an appearance!

Christmas wouldn’t be complete without visiting Santa Claus. The Wilderness Dance Hall in Ghost Town becomes home to Santa’s Christmas Cabin for the holiday season. Here, the young and the young at heart can share their wish lists with jolly Santa Claus and take home a picture of the occasion.

Here, guests can also indulge in holiday delights such as:
• Santa’s homemade cookies
• Hot fudge sundae bar
• Decadent hot chocolate topped with hand carved chocolate shavings
• Winter wine and craft beer tastings paired with fresh fruit, cheese and more!

Peanuts Characters

One thing Knott’s always does well is food!  Knott’s Berry Farm’s culinary elves have created delicious festive treats including Santa’s homemade cookies, sundae bar, decadent hot chocolate topped with hand carved chocolate shavings, and winter wine and craft beer tastings. Savor the ultimate comfort foods with Knott’s world famous desserts, including fresh made-to-order Maple Lollipops, churros from the Churro Factory, cakes, cookies, muffins and gingerbread men in the Farm Bakery.

Since we’re talking about the holidays, Knott’s Season Passes make the best gifts. This year you could buy a season pass that comes with food included! Yes, you could have lunch and dinner at Knott’s every single day of the season! You can’t beat that! We’re thinking about getting passes for Summer. Knott’s Merry Farm 2013

Now that we’re done with all that heat, it’s finally beginning to feel like the holidays around here in Southern California.  One of the family friendly places we like to visit during the holidays is Knott’s Berry Farm which transitions into Knott’s Merry Farm during November and December.  Knott’s is America’s oldest theme park and probably presents the Americana of Christmas better than anywhere else.

Knott’s Merry Farm really does bring about the feeling of returning home for the holidays during this time of the year. Create some memories for your children and bring them to experience this event.  This year there are some all new shows, such as the It’s Christmas Snoopy! Ice Show and Lucy’s Wish List at the Camp Snoopy Theater.  Also returning are the presentations of A Christmas Carol and Gift of the Magi inside the Birdcage Theater in Ghost Town.

Santa’s Christmas Cabin

New for 2013 is Santa’s Christmas Cabin, where you can meet Santa and grab a picture. Also you can get a treat at Santa’s Sundae Bar or try some wine and craft beers for the adults.  Snoopy leads the nightly treat lighting ceremony.  The Christmas Crafts Fair also returns to Ghost Town throughout the holidays.  Try not to smile during the magic of the Christmas holiday at Knott’s, I dare you.

A great gift idea is some season passes, which boast unlimited visits in 2014.  They can be purchased online starting at $78.00 or with six easy installment payments of $13.00, for a limited time. Knott’s Season Pass program offers its members discounts, special Season Pass Holder events and more.
