Regal Entertainment Group..aka.. Edwards Theaters- Free Family Movie Program this summer

I love this time of year because summer is right around the corner. Summer time to me is all about having fun with the kids indoors and outdoors. My daughter Lauren is out of school and my son will be out in about two weeks.  I’m starting to  plan  what we will do this summer. I remembered from last year a program that we enjoyed and one that you will not want to miss.It will keep your kiddos entertained twice a week and it is absolutely free.

The Regal Entertainment Group who own Edwards and Regal Cinemas are once again offering their summer family film festival beginning on June 15th or June 22nd and run until mid August. That is an entire summer of free movies for kids and parents. The movies will run every Tuesday and Wednesday morning at 10am during the festival. The seating is first come, first serve- you might want to get there a bit early to make sure you get good seats. It’s a fantastic program and I think it’s amazing that it’s absolutely free!! Fun Freebie for your explorer- REI’s Passport to Adventure

I’m planning on fully taking advantage of our summer and will be doing some hiking and exploring regional parks and trails in Southern California. A friend let me know about REI’s Passport to Adventure and I thought it would be a good deal to pass on.

Designed for kids aged 5-12, it’s a fun way to connect them to the natural world and start them on a lifetime of outdoor recreation and stewardship.
Here’s How It Works!

1. Start with an Adventure Journal, where kids can document their hikes, bike rides and other fun times. Pick up a journal in any REI store. You can print one only but the ones at the store are way way better! They come with stickers and other little goodies.
2. Use REI’s handy interactive map to find local family-friendly hikes and bike rides. Lists are also available at your REI store.
3. Earn a prize! After your kiddos finish one outdoor activity, send in the tear-off postcard from the journal or fill out the online form to get a certificate of completion and a special prize—binoculars or a whistle that turn into other cool tools including a compass, magnifying glass and more!

It’s a great little incentive to get the kiddos excited about upcoming summer adventures. To learn more about the Passport to Adventure- head on over to their website
