A Little Comfort during Flu Season #KleenexSWS

I spent most of my childhood at my abuelita’s (grandmother) home. I was sick often and she always tried to make me feel better and comfortable with her remedies. She would make me a special tea, make me plantillas(a Mexican home remedy) and always have a big nice box of Kleenex nearby.

Now it’s my turn to comfort others, when the kids, husband or friends are sick. I love to make a nice big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup or a nice cup of chamomile tea with honey. My kids love snuggling up when they are sick and I love to make them as comfortable as possible. Usually it means snuggling in mom and dad’s bed and watching Disney movies all day in bed.

We are currently battling the flu at home and there is nothing worse than having a runny nose. During cold and flu season, everyone could use a little bit of comfort and a small gesture can make a big difference.

According to the Center for Disease Control, in the United States, on average 5% to 20% of the population gets the flu and more than 200,000 people are hospitalized from flu related complications.

I hate seeing my little ones down with the flu and I try to make them as comfortable as possible. My daughter also suffers from seasonal allergies and lately they have been in full effect.  I like to pack a small box of Kleenex in her backpack and always have a nice big box next to her bed.  When you buy specially marked boxes of Kleenex tissues, you will find a code that can help make your loved ones more comfortable. You can use the codes to send a Kleenex Brand Care Pack or Share pack to someone that is in need of a little comfort.  For additional info head here.
