Can you believe it? The 2015 LA County Fair is underway once again! It’s been years since I had attended the LA County Fair and I had forgotten just how large it has become. It’s easily twice the size of the one in Orange County and definitely larger than Del Mar.

All the classic rides and oh my gosh, the food. The fair has deep-fried EVERYTHING, and I mean everything. If you can think of it, chances are it has been stuck on a stick, dipped in batter, and dunked until it’s golden brown and crispy. We dare you to try the deep fried Slim Fast bar or the funnel cake burger. We prefer the simpler foods like the giant Texas donut below.

This is the 63rd anniversary of the LA County Fair. The Fair first opened Oct. 17, 1922 and ran through the 21st. Admission was 50 cents, with 49,461 people in attendance. And did you know, during the Depression, the L.A. County Fairgrounds became home to Orange County and Riverside County as they presented a tri-county fair.

Day or night, visit the Carnival with more than 70 exciting rides; Esmeralda’s Traveling Circus with trapeze and aerial acts performing death-defying stunts; the Flower & Garden Pavilion highlighting the flora and fauna of New Orleans’ Mardi Gras; and the Millard Sheets Art Center with featured artwork from local artists

There was an endless amount of all kinds of rides. No less than 3 ferris wheels, 4 giant slides, 6 funhouses and 4 rollercoasters make up the vast spread of thrill rides. Rides are all ticket-based, with prices ranging from $20-$100. The fair also offers an unlimited ride wristband for $50 that is good for one day only, which is the best deal. The fair is closed Monday and Tuesdays, through September 27th.
