Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

I can’t believe I didn’t post about this earlier! If you are looking for something fun, amazing, educational and did I mention FREE for the entire family, you have to check out the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The festival will be taking place this weekend April 21st to April 22nd. The Festival of Books is held at the University of Southern California’s Campus (USC) and is absolutely Free. The only thing you will have to pay for is parking ($10).

The goal of the LA Times Festival of Books is to connect people that love books, with the people who wrote them. Simple as that! The festival is a free public event, and includes exciting author events, storytelling, cooking demonstrations and poetry readings.  The Target Children’s  Stage will feature the authors of Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the voices of Dora the Explorer engaging in storytelling.

For mom and dad, there will also be some FUNtastic authors including Bethenny Frankel, Betty White, Ricky Lake, Cheryl Burke, John Cusak and many many more. Some of these panels require tickets. The tickets are free but there is a $1 processing fee.

There is something for everyone! You won’t want to miss it. For additional info head here.

Mark your calendars because when I mean that this is one event you do not want to miss, I really really mean it!

The Los Angeles Times Festival of books is an annual event that connects books lovers with authors. Sort of a very large meet and greet with your favorite author and a celebration of books. The festival is free to the public and features storytelling for the kiddos, cooking demos, panels with your favorite authors  and over 300+ booths featuring everything from community organizations to book publishers. There is something at the festival for everyone in the family.

The Target Children’s Stage will feature storytelling from Mallory Lewis and Lamb Chop, Jamie Lee Curtis, Disney Junior’s Choo-Choo Soul with Genevive, R.L. Stine author of Goosebumps and John Bemelmans Marciano author of Madeline at the White House. I love the Madeline book series and can’t wait to take my kiddos!

This year the festival changes location from the UCLA campus to the USC campus.
