Creating at Sawdust Festival

Our family has Summer traditions and visiting the Laguna Beach Sawdust Art Festival is one of them. The Sawdust Art Festival features over 200 Laguna Beach Artists and their work. There are live demonstrations, a children’s area where the kiddos can explore their artistic side, live entertainment and art work all around.  It is a fun and unique experience for the entire family. Everyone in your family will find something fun to do or see at the Sawdust Art & Craft Festival.

The Sawdust Art Festival will take place from June 27th to August 31st and be open from 10am to 10pm daily. Tickets are $8.50 and kiddos 5 and under are free.

Last year the kiddos had a blast taking one of the pottery classes and made some cute vases. They had a blast and can’t wait to do it again next year. To learn more about the festival, check out their class schedule, or get your tickets, head here.

Sawdust Festival Fun

Sawdust Festival Fun

One of our favorite summer traditions is taking a little trip to Laguna Beach and having fun at the different summer art festivals. The Sawdust Art Festival is our favorite. We try to visit at least once, but usually wind up going back more than once because our entire family has so much fun.

There are a variety of classes for both children and adults. Last year both kids had the opportunity to try their hand at the potter’s wheel and created their own little pots. They had so much fun and it was super cheap. The class is free, and all you have to do is pay for the firing/glazing.

The Children’s Art Festival offer a variety of free projects for the little ones. The classes for adults and children older than 6  are either free or  there is a small fee for materials. I’ve really wanted to take a jewelry making class and hopefully I can take one in August.

We love the festival and I know you will too. It’s fun for the entire family. There is live music, food, and features more than 200 local artists. To check out the schedule of classes head here.

The Summer Sawdust Festival runs through September 1st, and is open everyday from 10am to 10pm. For additional info head here.

One of the things I most look forward to during the summer, is the art festivals in Laguna Beach. They are fun for the entire family, inexpensive and a great way to spend a beautiful day in paradise. My favorite of the festivals is the Sawdust Art & Craft Festival. The festival has great demonstrations, live entertainment, music and free art classes.

If you have kiddos at home that are bored this summer, make sure to buy a summer pass to the festival. Kids 5 and under are always free and a season pass for an adult or older child is only $15. Also if you are a resident of Orange County you can get in for free on select evenings after 5pm. You can check here to see what day of the week, you can get in for free.

Most of the art classes are geared for children older than 4 and almost all are free of charge. Some of the classes offered are rock painting, Hawaiian Paper Flowers, Nature Mosaics and much much more! You can check out the calendar of classes and events by heading here.

The Sawdust Festival will run through September 2nd of this year. If you find yourself with bored kiddos this summer, pack them in the car and head over a fun afternoon of art!
