Wicked at The Pantages

Wicked at the Pantages Theatre

Wicked at the Pantages Theatre

My favorite musical is back in town for three months! Wicked, is back at the Pantages Theatre from now until March 15, 2015. I’ve had the opportunity to watch the show a few times and I fall in love with it more each time. The music is powerful and the storyline is fantastic. It’s a show that you will not want to miss. My daughter who is nine has watched the show twice and has also fallen in love with it. We listen to the music often and know each song by heart.

There are nightly performances on most nights and also matinee shows on the weekends. The Pantages also has day of the show lottery tickets. The lottery is held prior to every show. Here’s what you have to do to enter the lottery.

Entries will be accepted at the box office beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance
• Each person will print their name and the number of tickets (1 or 2) they wish to purchase on a card that is provided.
• Two hours before curtain, names will be drawn at random for a limited number of tickets priced at $25 each; cash only.
• Only one entry is allowed per person.

We had the opportunity to score tickets during the lottery and were able to get amazing seats for only $25!!!

You can also of course purchase tickets in advance or at the box office. Tickets to this amazing show would make one heck of a Christmas Gift! For additional info or to purchase tickets, head here.

Our fantastic Night at Segerstrom Hall: Wicked Rocks!

Wicked!

Last week, my daughter and I had the opportunity to watch Wicked at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, in Costa Mesa. We had an incredible night. It’s no secret that I’m a HUGE fan of the play. This was my fifth time watching and my daughter’s second. We absolutely love the show,  and I think it’s one of the best musicals, to introduce the world of musical 5heater  to children. The music is fantastic, the acting phenomenal  and the show is just fun to watch. The show just had a casting change with a new Glinda. Jenn Gambatese took on the new role and she was terrific! This production of Wicked is hands down one of my favorites. My seven year old was glued to her seat, from the minute the show started. You know that can be tough with a seven year old, but she was into every song and at the end said, “Mom that was short”! I couldn’t believe it!

The show is playing at Segerstrom Center for the arts until March 17th. If you have not had the opportunity to watch it, just do it! It can be a little pricey, but it is soooo worth it! You can also press your luck and try the lottery. Your best bets are for a weekday performance. A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, WICKED fans can come to the Center’s box office and have their names placed in a lottery drum. Thirty minutes later, winning names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats that can be purchased for $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a purchase limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets. The number of available lottery tickets may vary from performance to performance.

We were there last night as our friends tried their luck for the performance. They didn’t win the lottery and wound up buying tickets, but it’s still a fun little adventure. I hope to catch it one more time and am willing to press my luck maybe next weekend. You can still purchase tickets for the show. You can either do it online or head to the box office.  For additional info head here.

Disclosure: This is not a compensated post. Wicked is my all time favorite musical and if I could, I would write about it every day. I was however, provided with complimentary media tickets.

Wicked is coming to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts

I love musical theater and love exposing both of my children to it. I have seen Phantom of the Opera over 13 times, I’m telling you, I LOVE musical theater. My all time favorite show by far has to be Wicked, and luckily it is coming to the Performing Arts Center for an almost an entire month.Wicked will be coming to the performing arts center from February 20th to March 17th.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to catch Wicked on stage, now is your chance! If you love The Wizard of Oz, you will LOVE Wicked! The show has won over 35 awards and honest to goodness it will leave you in tears. Words cannot explain how good this show is. Last time it played, I took my daughter who was 5 at the time and she fell in love with it. This year I’m planning on taking the entire family.

If you have some time to spare and would love to have amazing seats for only $25 you have to try your luck with the Lottery.

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held daily for Wicked, which will be performing from February 20th to March 17th at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Each day, 2½ hours prior to show time people who present themselves at the Plaza level above Segerstrom Center Box Office will have their names placed in a lottery drum and then 30 minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the Box Office, with a limit of two tickets per person.

We won it twice the last time it was around and what a treat that was! We had second row seats and a view like no other! You have to give it a try. For additional info or to purchase tickets head here. You don’t want to miss Wicked! It’s truly one of the best theater shows that has or ever will exist!
