Disney Sunday: Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort and Mickey’s Halloween Party

Halloween Time and Christmas Time are my absolute favorite times of the year at Disneyland Resort.  The Halloween Season begins September 14th and goes until Halloween. The Disneyland Resort will be decorated for Halloween and so will some of the attractions. Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, Haunted Mansion Holiday, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Disney Villains Meet and Greet, a special World of Color and Dia de Los Muertos displays are some of the special experiences during Halloween Time at the resort.

Mickey’s Halloween Party returns once again to Disneyland. The party is a special after hours costume extravaganza that features super fun treat stations, that dish both candy and healthy treats, a Halloween Themed firework spectacular, music and dance stations and being able to enjoy the park after it closes to the general public.

Mickey’s Halloween Party will take place on select evenings in October and also on Halloween Night. If you purchase tickets ahead of time you can save money on select nights.

We’ve attended as a family for the past 4 years and have had a blast! I’m looking forward to this year’s festivities! I hope you are too!

El Dorado Nature Center

Our Dad Blogger Robert shares about The El Dorado Nature Center. Can’t wait to check it out!

One of our favorite things to do as a father and daughter outing is to go on a nature walk. When you think of the city of Long Beach usually visions of nature don’t usually come to mind.  However, Long Beach has a great place for a nature walk at the El Dorado Nature Center.  Nestled just off of the 605 freeway and Spring Street is a wildlife habitat that is so much fun to explore.   There are 3 different trails that you can take, a one mile, 2 mile, or a quarter mile trail that is paved, making it enjoyable for those with wheelchairs or strollers.  I was happy to see plenty of benches and shade along the trails which helped us soak in the oasis like setting at our own relaxed pace.

During our nature walk my daughter found a squirrel, dragon flys, lizards, beetles and many plants and trees that she loved to point out to me.  After finding a bee my daughter told me that bees make honey ( who knew?).

At the end of our walk we spent some time at the indoor visitors center and learned about the many environmentally themed classes and activities that are upcoming. My family is already planning a return trip.

The Nature Center is closed Mondays, there is no admission charge, however it is $7 to park. For more info head here.

Wordless Wednesday: First day of School

Back to School snuck up fast on us. Yesterday, the kiddos headed to kinder and second grade. I shed a little tear as my son walked through the school doors and I realized, he’s not that much of a baby anymore. He was happy as a bug and walked in without much hesitation.

Have your kiddos gone back to school? Are you ready?
