Have you experienced  a Cirque du Soleil show?  It is an experience like no other. It is a visual feast and provides a multi sensory experience that is one of a kind.  When I read that one of the original creators of Cirque du Soleil had created Cavalia, a show about the relationship between humans and horses, I just knew I had to experience it  for myself.

I’ve watched the show twice on my own and once with the family a few years back. I was so excited to hear that the show is coming back and I can’t wait to take the family again.

Cavalia features many of the same things that I love about Cirque shows.  The live music is mesmerizing. The acrobatics are incredible. The show features dozens of beautiful horses and talented performers. It’s a show that can’t be missed!

Cavalia Odysseo will open on February 3rd, under the White Big Top, at the junction of SR 133 and the 405.  The show will open February 3,  with matinee and evening performances scheduled through February 14.

Tickets start at $29. For additional info head here.

A few days ago our Dad Blogger, Robert, had the opportunity to experience Cavalia’s newest show, Odysseo, in Burbank with his family and shares all about it. Here is what he has to share about this fantastic show.

Cavalia’s newest production, Odysseo, is a magical blend of acrobatics of a Cirque du Soleil type show and also a championship equestrian show. The staging is set is like no other and extremely impressive. The two hour show is held in the largest tent of it’s kind. The tent is over ten stories high, with a video backdrop that is the size of three IMAX movie screens, providing a lush atmosphere for the horses and cast to present the show.

The horses are truly the stars of the show. There are as many as 60 horses participating in each production. The horses perform amazing feats throughout the show, but are also granted the freedom to express themselves when they feel the need, all within the confines of a show. The production focuses on the long and unique relationship that has developed between humans and horses. The show also features acrobats and aerialists. They have a way of wowing the audience, but also using their talents to accentuate the beauty and intelligence of the horses without upstaging them.

Far and away, my favorite part of the show was when an actual life sized carousel descended from the ceiling. I don’t want to give away too much, but I will say this, horses, aerialists, acrobats, in combination with a life sized carousel, made quite the show stuffer and provided a visual stunning ending to the show.

Cavalia’s Odysseo, will play under the big white tent in Downtown Burbank until the end of March. You can purchase tickets by heading here. It is a fantastic show and if you are looking for something special to do with the family, you don’t want to miss out on this! For additional info head here.

Cavalia

Have you experienced  a Cirque du Soleil show?  It is an experience like no other. It is a visual feast and provides a multi sensory experience that is one of a kind.  When I read that one of the original creators of Cirque du Soleil had created Cavalia, a show about the relationship between humans and horses, I just knew I had to experience it  for myself.

Last week I was able to head up to Burbank with my daughter and sisters  to experience Cavalia. The show is set up under a big tent next to Downtown Burbank and very easy to get to.  My five year old daughter almost couldn’t contain herself  with excitement when she spotted the big tent. We were in for quite a treat.

Cavalia features many of the same things that I love about Cirque shows.  The live music was mesmerizing. The acrobatics were incredible.  My daughter was absolutely in love with the aerialists. She called them ballet dancers in the sky. The show features dozens of beautiful horses and talented performers. I was glued to my seat the entire time and so was my  five year old.

I can’t rave enought about Cavalia. If you are looking for something special to do for Valentine’s Day, look no further. Cavalia is also a perfect special treat for the entire family. If your kiddos can sit through an entire movie at the theater, he or she will be able to enjoy the show. My suggestion  if you are taking little ones is to try to catch an afternoon show on the weekends.

The show runs until February 15th. Ticekts start at $39 with special pricing for the kiddos. For additional info head here.

I was not compensated for this post. I was given complementary tickets  to experience the show.
