Big Bear Discovery Center

I’ve shared with you my favorite stops for snow play on the way to Big Bear. Now I want to share with you one of the first places to visit on your outing to Big Bear. The Big Bear Discovery Center is a great place to visit with the kiddos and learn about the area.

The center is an educational center and a place to learn about the wildlife in the area. We had the opportunity to visit the Discovery Center and the kiddos had a great time learning about the different animals in the area. If you are visiting the Center on a weekend make sure to join one of the Nature Walks. They are half an hour in length and are offered at 1 and 2pm on Saturday and 11 am and noon on Sunday. The Discovery Center is not a very big place and it shouldn’t take more than a half hour tos explore.

Elmo’s Birthday Party at The Discovery Science Center Giveaway

I am so excited about Discovery Science Center’s Newest Exhibit: Sesame Street presents The Body. This is an amazing exhibit! I was able to take my daughter when the exhibit was at the DSC four years ago and she absolutely loved it!

Sesame Street presents The Body will run from January 29th through May 1st. If you are a Sesame Street fan this is one exhibit you do not want to miss! You will be able to play through this very interactive experience and learn all about the body.

It’s giveaway time!

The Discovery Science Center is throwing a big bash for Elmo’s Birthday on February 3rd. We are giving away two family packs to this fun filled event. This is a private after hours event. This very special birthday party will have VIP access to the Sesame Street Presents: The Body exhibit, a special visit from Elmo and of course cake!

Underwater Parks Day at SEA LIFE Aquarium and Giveaway

I know it’s only Tuesday night but I’m ready for some adventures this weekend. I hope you are too! We went shopping at MerrittSupply and got some really good stuff we can’t wait to tell. I wanted to share with you a very special event taking place this Saturday, January 15th at the SEA LIFE Aquarium at the Legoland Resort. The SEA LIFE aquarium will be celebrating the third annual Underwater Parks Day with kid-friendly activities designed to raise awareness of the newly designated “Underwater Parks” or Marine Protected Areas.

There will be many fun activities including creating personalized take-home habitats, adding to the Happy Habitat Mural inside the Aquarium and a mini Conservation Expo with hands-on exhibits that will teach your both kiddos and grownups how to take care of our beautiful coast.

Underwater Parks Day is an effort by Southern California aquariums and marine science centers to explain the need for Marine Protected Areas, which are a critical tool in replenishing the fish populations and restoring the health of coastal waters.

Underwater Parks Day at SEA LIFE Carlsbad Aquarium takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and all activities are included in the cost of Aquarium admission – $20 for adults, $17 for seniors and $13 for kids 3 to 12. For more information on SEA LIFE Carlsbad Aquarium visit www.sealifeus.com.
