New for July on Netflix #StreamTeam

Summertime is when we head outside for fun in the sun. But now again, it’s time to cool down and relax.  That’s where Netflix comes in handy with some great new programs available for everyone. We fire up the Roku box, make some popcorn and sit under the ceiling fan to enjoy some downtime.

One of the first, which my son is crazy about is DreamWorks Animation’s Turbo FAST (Fast Action Stunt Team) which is back on Netflix this month with 5 all-new adrenaline-fueled episodes just in time for Summer.

There are some of the family friendly films available this July on Netflix. I did throw in Under The Tuscan Sun, not because it’s really family friendly but because I never get sick of watching that film.

1. “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” available on July 1
2. “The Karate Kid” available on July 1
3. “The Karate Kid II” available on July 1
4. “The Parent Trap” available on July 1
5. “Under the Tuscan Sun” available on July 1
6. “Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo” available on July 1
7. “Madeline” available on July 1
8. “Mean Girls” available on July 1
9. “My Girl” available on July 1
10. “My Girl 2” available on July 1
11. “Sleeping Beauty” available on July 12

And for after the kids are in bed, season 2 of Orange is the New Black!

Helping Kiddos Have a #HungerFreeSummer

Hunger-Free-Summer

Disclosure:  This is a sponsored post with The Motherhood and ConAgra Foods.  However, all opinions are my own and I love the #HungerFreeSummer initiative.

Earlier this month I shared about  ConAgra Foods Hunger- Free Summer with Feeding America. I shared about some of the ways that you could take part of this initiative and make sure that children in America do not go hungry this Summer. One of the easiest things to do is help share the video below. It takes less than a minute and each time you share, like, or view this video, the ConAgra Foods Foundation will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America, up to two million meals.¹

It’s an easy way to help spread the word and help kiddos have a Hunger Free Summer. It is an issue that is very dear to my heart and our family has decided to do something about it. Every week when head grocery shopping we add extra groceries to our cart. It’s not much, about $10 each week.  Earlier this week we had enough extra groceries to drop a small load off at our local food pantry. It was easy and something that I plan on doing each week. My daughter shares below how we do it.

You can learn more about the initiative here.

If you are looking for some fun summertime ideas, make sure to check out Feeding America’s, Childlike Summer Pinterest board for some great ideas.

1For every view, like or share of this Kid President video recorded on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr and Google+ from May 22, 2014 through July 31, 2014, the ConAgra Foods Foundation will donate 11.1¢, the cost for Feeding America to provide one meal through its network of local food banks. Minimum donation of 10,000 meals ($11,111). Maximum donation of one million meals ($111,111). Valid in U.S. only.

Things To Do With The Kids This Summer: Cheapo Movie Theaters

Can you guess what they want to watch next?

Movie Time!!!

We’re in to week two of our Summer Vacation and this week on the schedule are a trip to the Air and Space Museum in SD, a trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific, and the beach. We’re also planning on hitting a movie, but that can be pricey!!! We love visiting bargain theaters because they’re inexpensive and if the kids became bored and we need to leave, we are only out a couple of bucks. Family films are particularly popular at these type of theaters, so it’s usually easy to find something for everyone. We’ve had a great experience and I’m sure your family will too!! I’ve shared this list before, but this is updated and ready for you to use and take those kiddos to the movies, without going broke!
