The Gorgeous Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort and Resortime

The Carlsbad Beach and Resort is absolutely stunning!

The Carlsbad Beach and Resort is absolutely stunning!

Disclosure: We were invited to stay at the resort.

Last month we had the opportunity to stay at one of the most gorgeous resorts in Southern California, The Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort.  Carlsbad is one of our favorite places to visit near the beach.  It is usually less crowded than many of the OC beaches and has a relaxed vibe.  Carlsbad Inn is just 80 steps from the beach, and stretches along a 4.07-acre site fronting on both Pacific Coast Highway and the Pacific Ocean, nestled within the quaint village of Carlsbad.

The Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort is a managed by Grand Pacific Resorts and is also a part of ResortTime. You will be spoiled when you stay at a ResortTime hotel and will not want to vacation anywhere else. Here’s why. The rooms are spacious and have all of the comforts of home. Our room came with a separate living area, full kitchen, a gorgeous full bathroom, and a bedroom. When you vacation with your family, you want to do it in comfort and not be cramped in a little room. The Carlsbad Inn Resort, Grand Pacific Resorts, and ResorTime provide you with that experience. Trust me, after you’ve stayed and had room, you will not want to stay in a small room ever again!

The Carlsbad Inn Wrapping around a lush green lawn and courtyard with views to the Pacific Ocean, guests enjoy complimentary use of bicycles and jogging strollers, and a lively activity center with over 30-weekly activities including tours, classes, and special events. Recreational amenities include a pool, two Jacuzzi hot tubs, playground, a large gym with Nautilus, free weight and aerobic equipment, sauna, men’s and women’s locker rooms. It is the perfect place for a beach vacation. I really can’t wait to be able to come back and stay for a full week with my family.

It’s a very short walk out to the beach, where they have a seasonal beachfront cabana offering beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas and other beach toys for guests at the resort.

There are so many activities to do with the family. I love that I could walk down to the beach anytime and take a stroll multiple times a day. No worry about parking or dragging chairs down, all I had to do was enjoy myself!

Norte Mexican restaurant is right next door. It features tasty and affordable Mexican food.  It is now my husband’s favorite Mexican restaurant in San Diego County.  There are also lots of other great places to eat within just a block of the Carlsbad Inn.

ResorTime manages several vacations spots all over the world. They recently redesigned their online booking website to make it easier than ever to get the dates you want in the destination you have longed to visit.  Check out the site here.

I have an amazing code to book your next vacation through Resortime. Use Discount Code:  16B3F and receive 20% off any resort. You must book by 08/31, but you can travel through 2015. It’s a great deal! Trust me, you will never want to stay at any other place.

We Will Rock You The Musical Hits Los Angeles

My husband is a big theater going person and that has made our family into a bunch of theater lovers.  Now at the Ahmanson theater in Los Angeles is the hit musical Queen and Ben Elton’s “We Will Rock You.” The show is built around 24 of the biggest hits of the rock group Queen, which delivers a show that boasts the scale and electrifying spectacle that marked the band’s legendary live performances.

We Will Rock You2

The show is set in the future on a planet once called Earth that is now controlled by a big corporation. Computer-generated music reigns, no rock music is heard, all musical instruments are banned and conformity is enforced. A pair of young renegades, Galileo and Scaramouche, dare to rebel and bring rock music back to the people.  The show is high energy and the music of Queen is played live and loud. It’s hard not to jump to your feet every time another familiar song starts up.

“We Will Rock You” includes such songs as “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “We Are The Champions,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and, of course, “We Will Rock You.”  There are some lyric changes to fit with the loose storyline, but the young cast belts out tunes with all the intensity that Freddie Mercury carried in his glory days.  While there is nothing inappropriate for families, I would suggest the show for children over 12.

This is the West Coast premiere of the show, which recently closed in London’s West End after playing to crowds for 12 years. The show did have a year long run in Las Vegas about 10 years ago, but otherwise, the show is new to North America.  Get your tickets now!

Huntington Beach Adventure Park – One Terrific Summer Day!

Rafting in a Pond. Awesome!

Rafting in a Pond. Awesome!

I heard about the adventure playground in Huntington Beach a few years back. I’ve wanted to take the kiddos for a few summers now and never got around to it. Last week, I decided this was going to be the week I took the kids. We packed a cooler, asked our friends to join us, and we headed West to Huntington Beach for a day of fun. It was sooooo much fun!!!!

Rafting was first on our list!

The Huntington Beach Adventure Park is a must visit friends! We had such a great time. It was actually one of those moments in which I found myself envying my kiddos. They were grinning from ear to ear. The park is geared for kiddos aged 5 to 12 years old. Kids can raft on a small pond, try to cross a rope bridge, build stuff with a real hammer and nails(kids each get 3 nails and can earn others), go down a mudslide, and have a great old time getting dirty. It is good old fashioned fun!

The kids played hard. They got dirty. They had one heck of a good time. It’s all a mom could ask for. We had a seriously fun day. The Huntington Beach Adventure Playground is open only until August 14. You have to hurry and take the kiddos before it closes for the Summer!

You can also hammer your heart away and wash up after playing in the mud!
