I don’t know who is looking more forward to Summer, my kiddos or me! I love teaching but I sure look forward to lazy Summer days, having fun, being outside, and sleeping in. We’re already planning our Summer days and they definitely include a lot of movie days.

We always make sure to take advantage of the Regal/Edwards Theaters Summer Movie Express. Admission to the movies is $1 and part of the proceeds go to the Will Rogers Foundation. Two movies will be shown each Tuesday/Wednesday at 10am. You can purchase tickets at the box office, just make sure to get there early because seats fill up quickly.

It’s a fun and inexpensive outing that will keep your kiddos busy this Summer. To check out the schedule and to learn more about the program, head here.

Del Real Foods Party in a Box Giveaway

Disclosure: This is not a compensated post. Samples were received for review purposes. However, all opinions are my own.

My family is always on the go. Between our adventures, sports, school, and work, it’s hard to cook a good meal. I’m always on the lookout for yummy and tasty food that is ready to go. When Del Real Foods asked me to review some of their most popular dishes, I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve had a few samples at Costco and enjoyed what I tried.

The folks at Del Real sent over their Al Pastor Tacos Kit, Carnitas, Chile Verde, and Barbacoa. It was truly a party in a box and we enjoyed every last morsel. We had a movie/stay at home night and enjoyed a good flick with some delicious Mexican comfort food. Del Real foods use natural ingredients, most of which are locally sourced. I have a kiddo who has Celiac Disease and was so happy to find that their dishes are gluten free and trans fat free. Score!!

Del Real Foods has generously offered to give one lucky Daytrippingmom reader a Party in a box. The Box includes  some of Del Real Favorites like carnitas, tamales, pork al pastor pupusas and the newest delicious addition: the Al Pastor Taco Kit. Winner will also receive a cooler and blanket. Perfect for a picnic at your favorite outdoor location.

All you have to do is leave a comment letting me know your favorite Mexican is. That’s it. You can also gain additional entries by following us on Twitter and sending out a tweet. Winner will be chosen at random. Giveaway ends on May 12th at 11:59pm. Good luck!

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Toy Fun

This is part of a sponsored campaign with DiMe Media and Hasbro. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

There is lots of excitement with the release of the new Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron movie. Hasbro will be celebrating the latest Avengers cinematic adventure, with a hero-sized toy line featuring electronic action figures, role-play items and playsets! The movie hits theaters today, May 1st.  Our family is looking forward to watching the film. Just as family entertainment is important to us, so is letting our children pretend and express themselves. These new toys provide lots of opportunity for creative fun.

Both kids wanted to be Iron Man with the Iron Man Arc FX Armor it lights up and sounds just like the movie.  Just as fun as battling evil like Hulk, with the Hulk Gamma Grip Fists or fighting for good like Captain America with the Captain America Star Launch Shield.

Role-play toys invite kids to unleash their inner Super Hero – whether they are recreating their favorite on-screen hero or creating their own heroes by mixing and matching items. Plus, channeling a Super Hero not only sparks creativity, but often leads to getting outdoors for some playtime!

Captain America’s Star Launch Shield was a big hit with both the boy AND girl in our house. It shoots round spinner with a soft rubber edge that will fly over 30 feet from the pull string launch.

As an added bonus, we included the first ever Spanish language ad for the new Marvel’s Avengers toys.
