Halloween Roundup- Boo at the Zoo

I love this time of year and the many spooktacular activities that are fun for the entire family. One very fun and absolutely affordable activities for families in Southern California is Boo at the Santa Ana Zoo.  This family friendly costume party is fun, fafe and not very scary. Your family can trick or treat, wear their very cute costumes, participate in various educational animal presentations, storytelling and much more fun! There will also be a costume parade and plenty of treats!

For the older children in your family there is a “Teen Scream”, which is a haunted house/maze and is included with the price of admission.

Boo at the Zoo will take place October 22,23,24,29 and 30th from 5:30 to 8pm. Admission is $6 for members and $12 for non members. Children under 2 are free. You can purchase admission tickets at the front entrance or avoid waiting by heading here to purchase your tickets.

Halloween Roundup: Bug Invasion at the Discovery Science Center & Giveaway!

I love Halloween Time and this time of year! There are so many fun things to see and do. Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to check out Discovery Science Center’s Halloween Exhibit, Bug Invasion. It is the perfect spooky Halloween exhibit!

Bug Invasion is a larger than life exhibit, think Honey I shrunk the Kids. There are learning stations throughout the exhibit and  are sure to delight every bug lover! Some of the interactive stations include Bee Keepers, where you will learn everything there is to know about Bees, OC Vector Control, which will have you eye to eye with the pesky bugs and a traveling insect and Arthropod Zoo. There is also a fun stage show that will allow you to really get up close and personal with these creepy creatures.

My son is almost 4 years old and let me just say this exhibit was right up his alley. He was in Creepy Crawler Heaven!  He played, discovered and could have easily romped through Bug Invasion for hours. This is one little bugland you do not want to miss.

Since October is such a special month, every weekend in October, the kiddos will be able to dress up and participate in a special parade. You won’t want to miss checking out the Discovery Science Center in October.

Halloween Weekend will be special at The Cube with special activities which include

  • Themed Trick or Treat Stations
  • Costume Parade
  • Free Ride admission to the Pumpkin factory

We also had the opportunity to check out the Pumpkin factory, which is adjacent to the Discovery Center, in the parking lot of Main Place mall. The kids had an absolute time bouncing, driving little tractors and feeding animals in the petting zoo. There will also be fun trick or treat stations. To purchase admission tickets or to learn more about the Discovery Science Center head here.

It’s giveaway time! I have a family four pack to the Discovery Science Center and 4 VIP wrist bands to the pumpkin patch that will allow you unlimited games and rides at the Pumpkin Factory. All you have to do is leave a comment why you would like to win and you will be entered. For additional entries
