Our family has a somewhat obsession with chips. We bring them in the house whenever we are barbecuing or are having a movie night and they are gone before you know it. They are seriously inhaled! Chips and dips are the perfect pairing and I love to make my own guilt free pico de gallo dip that is also devoured within minutes!
Last week I had the opportunity to have a small gathering at my house with my favorite bloggy friends to make some homemade dips. Caryn from Rockinmama who made a delish mango salsa, Liz from Thoughts of a Mommy made a finger licking good queso fundido dip, Katie from OCmomactivities made the most amazing brochette dip , Laura from LA Story make the yummiest artichoke dip and Amy from Funny Yellow Mom made an out of this world bean dip. We had a blast making some yummy home made dips while the kiddos had a great time in the backyard getting soaked from head to toe fully clothed. It really did make for a fun afternoon.
I made a very mild pico de gallo because my kiddos are still getting used to spicier foods. Here is very simple and easy to make recipe.
- 4 fresh tomatoes
- 1 bunch of cilantro
- 1 medium onion
- 1 lime
- salt and pepper to taste
- **** for those of you that don’t mind the spice 1 to 2 chile serranos
Chop up tomatoes, onions and cilantro finely and add to a medium sized bowl. Squeeze 1 lime to the mix and add salt and pepper to taste. Super delish and easy to make.
