Dos Lagos Playground

I love discovering new playgrounds with the kiddos. Carissa discovered a new playground at the Dos Lagos Shopping Center in Corona and shares why she thinks you need to head over some playtime if you can.

If you are anything like me, you are always on the hunt for a great playground to take the kids to.  A few weeks ago we had a day with nothing planned so I grabbed my girl and we set off to find a new place to play. I had heard there was a new playground at Dos Lagos, an outdoor shopping center, so off we went.

I think this playground may be my new favorite! A few of the things I love about it are the fact that it is shaded, the ground is covered in a soft rubber material and there are elements that aren’t found at most playgrounds. The playground has plenty of benches to sit on, all within sight of your kids no matter where they might be playing. The day we first went there were several moms groups with blankets spread out for their tiny ones to play too.

Like most playgrounds you have your basic piece that contains stairs, ladders and slides. What sets this playground apart is a great teeter-totter that accommodate 4 kids at a time, 2 twirling buckets (that we have named the twirly-whirlies), a  kid-sized best hammock stands and hammock-type swing, a small rock wall to climb, and there is even a water-feature/fountain for warm days!

We’ve been back to this playground a hand-full of times in the past 2 weeks and each time I find myself loving it more. I love that the kids are contained as there is an iron fence that spans the perimeter with only 2 small exits. I also love that the bathrooms are 5 steps away and are big enough to accommodate strollers and other siblings that may also be playing.

A few other things that make this place so great is the lake at the far end, complete with an underwater walkway and a path that stretches around it and if you have shopping to do for the kids, you can find Gymboree, Children’s Place and a few other great stores all within the same area. Some shopping for you, some playtime for them, and a great family day for all!

Carissa is a blessed Mommy of a pretty amazing 2 1/2 year old. She works part-time as a Child Life Specialist in the Pediatric Emergency Department at a local children’s hospital. She is  excited to share with you some great places she has found and hopefully help provide some really fun family days for you and your little (and big) ones!

Have you checked out El Cerrito Sports Park? It’s a very cool park too. It’s off the 15 and El Cerrito.
