A Sparkling and Healthier Smile From Ear to Ear

Establishing Healthy Habits

It is never too soon to teach good oral hygiene routines to our young ones.  Both of my kiddos caught on to the teeth cleaning habit quickly.  During this last month we participated in the Listerine and Reach Healthy Habits for a Lifetime Oral Care Challenge.  I wanted to teach my children not only the importance of brushing their teeth but also about flossing and using mouth rinse.

For starters, I decided to let my independent little ones brush their own teeth in the morning before school (no fussing that way) and then my husband or I assisted them in the evenings. This way were able to be sure that they got all of the their teeth properly brushed at least once a day. If you want more tips, visit the website of this dentist near Marietta.

As part of this oral care challenge, we received a few bottles of Listerine’s Smart Rinse for Kids and Mouthwashes for Adults.  The Smart Rinse for kids is fantastic.  It does not have alcohol and there is not much to worry about if there is some accidental swallowing that takes place.  Most of all, the kids enjoy the flavor!  My daughter commented how her mouth “felt cleaner” after using it, probably from the tingling sensation.

In the past, I have used mouth rinse once in awhile.  Usually, while on vacation when the hotel provides that wonderful single serve bottle.  Since starting the challenge, however, I have found it easy to remember to use it after each brushing. The bright colored bottle is like a happy little greeting in the morning as I start my day.  I feel good knowing that between brushing, flossing and rinsing, I have protection against plaque and gingivitis.

When I was young, we would get a new toothbrush twice a year from the dentist.  It was usually the standard flat brush.  There was never a need to actually buy a brush. Once I was an adult, my manchester cosmetic dentist told me to give premium toothbrushes a try.  That’s when I first discovered the Reach brushes.  They are an amazing little device.  The design makes brushing every tooth in your mouth so much easier.  I feel that these helped contribute to making the Listerine and Reach Healthy Habits for a Lifetime Oral Care Challenge a success for me and my family.

This is part of a compensated campaign with The Motherhood and Johnson & Johnson.  Products were provided which helped facilitate this challenge.

Wordless Wednesday: It Goes By So Fast

It Goes By So Fast

I took this picture a few weeks ago at Disneyland, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. My daughter is almost seven years old and when she looked back, it took me back to the first time she rode that carousel when she was just a few months old. Time really does fly by and I can’t help the tears from rolling as I write this post. It won’t be long before she won’t want to ride the carousel or beg to ride Dumbo. It makes me realize how much I want to make memories more than ever and how quickly they grow right before our eyes.

I would love to feature your photos of your outings on Wordless Wednesday. If you have any that you would like to share, please send them to mom@daytrippingmom.com
