Our contributor Robert shares about a special event he had the opportunity to experience with his family.
On a recent day in Griffith Park, Frigidaire held an outdoor event with plenty of games and activities for children. Once the children had their fun with the games, the real fun began when each child was given a new white t-shirt and then were told to intentionally get the shirts dirty. My daughter was downright giddy at the opportunity to be able to stain the shirt. The kids were given chocolate milk and popsicles and even the dreaded red fruit punch to pour on the shirt. The goal was for the children to have fun, but also to put Frigidaire’s Affinity Front Load washer to the test to see if it could handle the stains that the kids made. Frigidaire had their washing machines on site and proved to be up to the task by getting my daughters tough stains to completely vanish. I must say that I was impressed.
Movie star Jennifer Garner, looking like she hasn’t aged a bit since the days of her hit tv show Alias, was also on hand to promote her new Disney movie, “The Odd Life of Timothy Green.” The movie which is scheduled to open on August 15th, deals with a married couple who are unexpectedly thrust into the role of becoming parents when a child shows up in their doorstep. It’s a touching PG rated movie that might even leave you misty eyed at its tender portrayal of parenting and family life.
In addition to promoting the film, Garner spoke about a charity that is near and dear to her heart, Save the Children. Specializing in helping children around the world in a multitude of ways such as education, proper nutrition, and literacy, Save the Children leads the way in breaking the cycle of poverty. Frigidaire has made a generous commitment of $750,000 to various programs to benefit children around the world.
