The Best Tasting Guacamole! Yes, even better than my Mami’s!

Last week my family and I were treated to an incredibly delicious lunch that we will not soon forget at Chevys Fresh Mex Restaurant in Del Mar. We were in for quite a treat! I have to be honest, we had never visited a Chevys restaurant before and boy have we been MISSING OUT! The food is incredibly fresh and delicious and the service was phenomenal. My normally picky kiddos ate every single morsel of food on their plates and this never happens!

A sampling of the various salsas made fresh at Chevys every day. Pictured are Grilled Corn Salsa, Grilled Pineapple Salsa, Fresh Mango Salsa, Roasted Red Pepper Salsa and Pico de Gallo

We started off first with some fresh table side Guacamole, made before your very own eyes. Chevys table side Guacamole is made with the freshest ingredients, including fresh oregano, which gives it a very unique taste. It is hands down the best guacamole I’ve ever had. You have to try it! Β It’s topped with queso fresco and paired with a basket of fresh tortilla chips. Oh those chips! You can have the original thinner chips that are served with salsa or the crispier and thicker chips served with the guacamole. They are seriously out of this world.

Made to order table side

You have to make sure you come hungry and thirsty, because the Chevys signature drinks are just as good as the food. We had the opportunity to try out the Prickly Pear Margarita. There are no words to describe this delicious drink other than WOW! It will knock your socks off. This pink drink is a must. We had a non alcoholic pitcher made and polished it off. It is soooo good!

We also had the opportunity to try a few other mouth watering appetizers including the crab and shrimp flautas and the Napa Valley Quesadilla made with Brie and Jack cheeses, caramelized onions, and served along side Chevys jalapeno jelly(sooooo good!!).

Chevys is known for their fajitas and let me tell you, they live up to all the hype. They are delicious. My husband had the classic fajitas and I had the fajita salad, which was also out of this world and made table side.

And I can’t forget about the kiddos and dessert! Chevys is home to a great kids menu with a variety of dishes and side dishes. The

The Kids Menu

We finished off our meal with some delicious dessert and the kiddos had a great time taking a tour of the kitchen and restaurant. You can arrange to have your school or play group tour the kitchen and restaurant and the kiddos will also get a special treat. This was the highlight of the visit for our kiddos. They loved it and couldn’t stop talking about it the entire day! It was sooo fun!

There used to be a Chevy’s in Irvine when I was a kid. It’s gone and I had no idea that there were still any around! I would love to go for some fajitas πŸ™‚

That’s a tough decision to make. But I love any thing with avocadoes but those flautas and fajitas also sound amazing
