Happy Friday everyone! I hope you are all ready to enjoy this first weekend in October.

I’m a big supporter of the local parks and zoos. I am a big fan of the Orange County Zoo, which is located inside Irvine Regional Park. It is a fun smaller zoo and it is a big hit with my kiddos. The Orange County Zoo offers classes for the kiddos year round. If you have toddlers, you definitely do not want to miss out on this class. The zoo has space available in their October 14th class, Bats, Cats & Spiders from 10am to 11am for 3 to y year olds. The class is $5 and it covers one adult. You have to register to be able to participate. To register call 714-973-6846.

To learn more about the zoo head here

I have a quick little giveaway that will run until Sunday. Enter to win a four pack of tickets to the OC Zoo and a four pack of tickets to the Irvine Park Railroad for a fun afternoon or morning. I love Modern Family. When I was offered the opportunity to review and do a giveaway, I could not pass it up! This show is funny and it is the one show I look forward to watch during the week. This giveaway is for the grown ups!

Featuring an all-star cast led by Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vargara, Julie Bowen, and Ty Burrell, Modern Family takes a refreshing and funny view of what it means to raise a family in this hectic day and age.  Multi-cultural relationships, adoption, and same-sex marriage are just a few of the timely issues faced by the show’s three wildly-diverse broods.  No matter the size or shape, family always comes first in this hilariously “modern” look at life, love, and laughter.

The complete first season of Modern Family is coming to DVD on September 21st.

It’s giveaway time! I have two copies of Modern Family to giveaway. All you have to do is leave a comment letting me know who your favorite character is and you are entered to win.
Contest ends on September 20th at 11:59pm. Winner will be selected at random.

As a thirty something mom, I have a confession to make. I was a Strawberry Shortcake junkie growing up and I have to admit, I still am sort of. I still get a kick out of Strawberry Shortcake and to my surprise, my five year old daughter has recently began to show signs of obsession with the sweet smelling girl and friends.
When I was asked if I would love to review and giveaway two fun DVD’s I jumped right on it!

Strawberry Shortcake’s Berrywood Here We Come, is a fun treat for any little girl. Strawberry Shortcake and friends head off to visit Strawberry’s movie star friend in Berrywood. The movie follows their adventures and helps her movie star friend realize that not everything is as it seems. They learn valuable life lessons and have fun in their adventures. The movie will sure to be hit with your little girl.

Strawberry Shortcake’s The Glimmerberry Ball Movie is one that your little girl will not be able to resist. It is my daughter’s absolute new favorite movie. Follow Strawberry Shortcake as she prepares for the Big Ball, exchange presents with friends and solve a mystery. There is also a valuable life lesson to be learned- Friends helping Friends. I was very impressed to learn that Strawberry Shortcake movies share great life lessons and messages. The movies are delightful!

The Glimeerberry Ball Movie and Berrywood Here We Come are both available at your favorite retailer or online sites such as Amazon.

It’s giveaway time! Two lucky winners will receive both movies. All you have to do is leave a comment letting me know why you would want to win and you are entered to win. The contest will close on Sunday September 6th at 11:59pm. Winner will be chosen at random. Good luck!

I can’t believe there are only a few days left in August. I head back to school tomorrow(I’m finishing up a program at CSUF) and my kiddos return to school in two weeks. My daughter will be heading to kindergarten this year and I plan on collecting Box Tops for Education to help her school this year.

The Safeway family of stores (which includes Vons) is making it simple to give back with “2 Ways 2 Earn” cash for your schools with Box Tops for Education and the “10% Goes Back to Schools” program.

Box Tops for Education has already given away over $320 million to help the more than 69 thousand schools participating. And if that wasn´t enough, earning Box Tops is even easier this year with four new brands participating in the program: Progresso Soup, Totino´s Pizza, Betty Crocker Cake Mixes and Gold Medal Flour.

To help your local schools even further just look for the “10% Goes Back to Schools” yellow school bus tags on over 2,000 of your favorite items throughout Safeway from August 11th – September 14th. When you purchase participating products with your Club Card, Safeway will give 10% of the purchase price to the local school of your choice.

Here´s how it works:

  • Check your receipt from August 11 – September 14. The total will be updated each time you shop.
  • Beginning on September 18, a redemption code will be printed at the bottom of your receipt.
  • Visit backtoschools.escrip.com before October 13 to choose your favorite participating local school, then simply enter your redemption code to make your donation.

To learn more about Box Tops for Education and Safeway´s “10% Goes Back to Schools” program, visit www.2ways2earn.com. And while you´re there, don´t forget to enter the Safeway Bonus Box Tops Sweepstakes for a chance to win 1,000 Bonus Box Tops for the participating school of your choice!

To help you start out, I’m giving away a $25 dollar gift card to Safeway/Vons and a 50 Bonus Box Top Certificate. All you have to do is leave a comment letting me know which Box Tops for Education products you will be looking for the Safeway “10% Back to Schools” yellow school tags. Contest will run through Tuesday, August 24th. Winner will be chosen at random.

I was not compensated for this post. I was given a gift card and box top certificate from Safeway and General Mills through MyBlogSpark. Gift Card and Certificate are also courtesy of Safeway and General Mills through MyBlogSpark.

My daughter is gearing for her first day of kindergarten in a few weeks and we have been on a quest for supplies. My daughter is a  Disney Princess and Toy Story fan and wants a combo of the two for her backpack and lunch bag. This year we headed to the Disney Store to pick up some of her school gear.

Kiddos can find a huge assortment of back-to-school products featuring Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the whole Toy Story 3 gang at Disney Store and DisneyStore.com this fall.  They have really cute stuff and at pretty good prices! In addition the backpacks and lunch boxes are excellent for the road. My son now has the backpack and lunch box featured above for our outings to museums, Disneyland, etc..

The backpack is pretty roomy and priced at 19.50. If you head over to DisneyStore.com, they are having a sale for 15.00 with Free Shipping.
The lunch boxes  match the cute backpacks and are prices at $12.50 but are on sale for $8 with Free Shipping.

It’s giveaway time! One lucky winner will win the backpack and lunch box pictured above. All you have to do is leave a comment letting me know why you would like to win this and that’s it! This contest is open until Sunday, August 8th, and will close at 11:59PM.  Good luck!

*Disclosure- I was not compensated for this post. I was given a backpack/lunch box to aid in the review.

I have to admit, I had heard about the book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but I have not yet read it. After watching this really cute and funny film, I can’t wait to get my hands on the book. The book is perfect for a family night.

The movie along with the move centers around Greg Heffley, a soon to be middle schooler, along with his best friend, Rowley Jefferson. Greg hopes that middle school will be different and becomes focused on a quest to become popular. The more he tries, the more he fails. It is a funny movie and I think one that we can all relate to. It deals with the awkwardness that comes with junior high/middle school, friendships and character. I really enjoyed the movie and I think you will too!

The movie is availabe on DVD and Blue Ray on Tuesday, August 3rd  at retailers nationwide.

It’s giveaway time!
I have one copy of Diary of a Wimpy Kid to giveaway. All you have to do is leave a comment on why you would like to watch this movie. Contest closes on Thursday, August 5th at 11:59PM. Winner will be selected at random on Friday morning. Good Luck!
