This past week my daughter Lauren turned six years old. She has been asking to lunch with the Disney princesses for what seems months now and we thought it would be the perfect time to pay a visit to Ariel’s Grotto.

Ariel’s Grotto  “Under the Sea” character dining is  a full service restaurant located inside Disney’s California Adventure . The restaurant allows your family to personally meet and interact with your favorite Disney Princess during “Ariel’s Princess Celebration”.

It is truly a little girl’s dream come true. The kiddos had the opportunity to meet and greet Snow White, Belle, Cinderella, Ariel and Aurora(Sleeping Beauty). We had the opportunity to take pictures and the kiddos were also able to get their autographs and interact with the princesses without having to wait in a crowd. It was a very magical experience.

Ariel’s Grotto has a fixed-price menu which include a shared appetizer/salad course, a main course and a shared dessert tray. You are able to choose your main entree. We all wanted to try the tri tip and it was pretty darn delish! Your meal also comes with a drink.

It is a fun experience for a special occasion or first visit to the park. I must warn you that Ariel’s Grotto is a bit pricey. I believe the total for our lunch experience was $132.00. We used our annual pass discount and it brought the total down to $115.oo with tip.

To make sure you don’t have to wait in line make sure to call 714-781-Dine for a reservation. You can make reservations up to 60 days in advanced. I would also be specific and ask if you would like to be seated outside or inside. We sat outside and it just so happened to be windy. This usually wouldn’t be a problem except that there is a Disney Channel Rocks  show directly across in the amphitheater that sprays water and we kept having a mist throughout lunch. I would definitely choose to be seated inside next time around.

Don’t forget to bring an autograph book because there will be plenty of opportunities to get your favorite Disney Princess’ autograph.

One more thing, Ariel’s Grotto is a perfect spot for World of Color. They have two seating for the show. The Cove Bar in the Ariel’s Grotto is also a perfect spot to watch World of Color and perfect for a date night. There is a $10 cover charge and you can order drinks and appetizers and have one of the best seats for World of Color.
