In our home, we don’t pay much attention to what critics say or what the box office numbers report. The fact is, our family thoroughly enjoyed The Lone Ranger when it hit the theaters this past summer. The film was a family friendly adventure film with familiar characters and one of our favorite actors, Johnny Depp.  Most of us are far too young to remember the original movies about the Lone Ranger. The new film takes the characters and retells the background of how the Lone Ranger came to be and how Tanto became is sidekick. The film is full of adventure and laughs.

The DVD/Blu-ray/Digital edition is being released just in time for Christmas and will make a great stocking stuffer. We are excited to add the film to our movie library. The extras on the film are “extra” fun.  This would make a last minute Christmas gift for the Western fan in your family.

The Blu-ray release will be the set that comes with all of the bonus features that includes a deleted scene and some behind-the-scenes featurettes. While short, I found the features interesting. I can never get enough behind-the-scenes action, so of course I’d prefer more. You can check out the full list, below.
