Science of Gingerbread at the Discovery Science Center and Giveaway

The holidays are in full swing and there is nothing quite like making a gingerbread house during the holidays. One of our favorite holiday traditions is making  and decorating a gingerbread house  with whatever we can find in our home  that is edible . We buy our kit  from Costco or Michael’s and love coming up with a wacky creation.

The Discovery Science Center knows how much fun building  a Gingerbread house can be and has created a fun exhibit called The Science of Gingerbread. The exhibit takes you inside the kitchen and be able to explore the science at work of making a gingerbread house.

There are also many fun holiday happenings at the Discovery Science Center including photos with Santa, a stage show, Gingerbread house workshops, cookie decorating and an award winning gingerbread display, which includes an entry for me. My gingerbread home is far from spectacular or award winning but it sure was fun to make.

The Science of Gingerbread will be at the Discovery Science Center until January 2nd.

Make sure to take advantage and use this $5 off coupon on a super ticket.

It’s giveaway time! We are giving away a family four pack of tickets to the Discovery Science Center. All you have to do is leave a comment on why you would like to win and you are automatically entered! You have until Sunday December 5th  to enter. Winner will be chosen at random. Good luck!

Halloween Roundup: Bug Invasion at the Discovery Science Center & Giveaway!

I love Halloween Time and this time of year! There are so many fun things to see and do. Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to check out Discovery Science Center’s Halloween Exhibit, Bug Invasion. It is the perfect spooky Halloween exhibit!

Bug Invasion is a larger than life exhibit, think Honey I shrunk the Kids. There are learning stations throughout the exhibit and  are sure to delight every bug lover! Some of the interactive stations include Bee Keepers, where you will learn everything there is to know about Bees, OC Vector Control, which will have you eye to eye with the pesky bugs and a traveling insect and Arthropod Zoo. There is also a fun stage show that will allow you to really get up close and personal with these creepy creatures.

My son is almost 4 years old and let me just say this exhibit was right up his alley. He was in Creepy Crawler Heaven!  He played, discovered and could have easily romped through Bug Invasion for hours. This is one little bugland you do not want to miss.

Since October is such a special month, every weekend in October, the kiddos will be able to dress up and participate in a special parade. You won’t want to miss checking out the Discovery Science Center in October.

The kids had an absolute time bouncing, driving little tractors and feeding animals in the petting zoo. There will also be fun trick or treat stations.
