Last night as the sun was setting down, we decided to make our way to the OC Fair. We usually like to head to the fair in the evenings. It’s less crowded, hot and that usually means a pretty relaxed experience. Last night proved to be just what we expected, a great night at the fair! A visit to the OC Fair has become a summer tradition. It just doesn’t feel like summer for us, without a trip to the fair.

We had a great time enjoying in everything that makes a fair so fun. We took a long stroll through the barn yard areas and had a great time checking out all of the different farm animals, the displays and of course getting in some goat and sheep petting.

We also played a couple of games, rode a couple of rides(well my hubby and the kids did, I just watched), ate some yummie fair food and did a whole lot of people watching. It’s honestly my favorite thing to do!
My hubby and kids slid down all the way from the top of the fun house. I closed my eyes. I couldn't watch!
There are so many fun things to do and see. You have to take the family this year! I love the memories we made and it’s one more thing to cross off our summer bucket list! I hope you can make it. Here’s all you need to know about the fair.
The Orange County Fair will be at the County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa until August 12th. The fair is open Wednesday to Sunday.
Hours:
Wednesday – Friday: Noon – midnight
Saturday – Sunday: 10 am – Midnight
ADMISSION
General (13–59) $11
Seniors (60+) $8
Youth (6–12) $6
Children 5 and under FREE every day.
Parking is $7 per vehicle.
You can get $2 admission on the weekends if you get there between 10am and 11 am

My 8-year-old twins have never been to the fair and my 19-year-old son is swearing in to the Army in the next few weeks. This would be a PERFECT outing to enjoy my three kiddos and make some wonderful family memories!
We just moved back to the Los Angeles area with our two little girls (3&6yrs old) and thyve never been to the Fair!! They love to do different things and I hope we can take them this Summer!!!!

My kids love the ginormous Ferris wheel. That’s usually the time I enjoy a funnel cake … on the ground!
My family and I look forward to the fair all year. We spend time admiring the gigantic vegetables, laughing at one another eat strange foods, and scream with delight riding the rides. Love this time of year- good way to spend the evening with family and friends!

We attend the fair every year as a tradition (new tradition) for my daughters birthday. Grandma and Grandpa come along too! We look forward to the crazy food, pig races, and fun family time all year!
The OC Fair has always been on our family’s summer to do list and now the next generations is in our hands. Our 2 year old grandson will make is 3rd appearance in a week. His favorite fair food is always the turkey leg! Grandpa gives gives a little help in finishing it, but then that’s what the fair is all about!

The OC Fair is a tradition for us and we usually go on opening day (free admission/parking from 12-1). All rides are only $2 from 1-4 and they also offer delicious food samples from certain food vendors for $2 too (this offer is good only on Friday’s). Besides all that, my kids really look forward to the pig races each year. This year we were rooting for Strawberry, but Sourdough jack won 🙂 Enjoy.

Sounds like a great time! We like to go to the fair in the evening too. There’s nothing more summer-ey than walking around on a warm night, munching on fair treats and surrounded by lights, music, and other people enjoying it all too. That’s why we love the fair and go every year.

I loved taking my kids to the fair when they were little, and 2 years ago we took them before my youngest left for college to see a Styx concert – it was just as much fun!

We visit the OC Fair every year and especially enjoy the photography exhibits which have become in my opinion, the best in Southern California fairs.

I grew up in the Midwest. Seeing farm animals and going to the fair was an annual event for my family. We even helped show cattle. My children have no concept of that life and I look forward to taking them to the OC fair and share some memories from my childhood! Thx!!
