Burrata and Pesto Pizza at Sammy’s is out of this world delicious!
Last month I had the opportunity to attend a tasting of Sammy’s Woodfired New Menu in La Jolla and was in for quite the treat! I had heard and passed Sammy’s many times before, but it was the first time, that I had ever dined at one. Sammy’s has 18 locations to serve you and the one in La Jolla is in the heart of La Jolla Village.
What I love about Sammy’s is that not only does the food taste great, it’s good for you! Sammy’s serves locally sourced, organic and sustainable items whenever possible. Their pizzas can be tailored made and can be made to suit any dietary need, including gluten free.
The duck tacos are a must as an appetizer, although the Japanese Meatballs are also fantastic!
We started out our evening with Sammy’s Mini Duck Tacos, Japanese Meatballs done with the best meat tenderizer, and Lobster Mac n Cheese. They were both delicious, but I would have to say that the tacos were my absolute favorite. They were absolutely delicious!
Organic Argula and Pear Pizza. My absolute favorite. It was so yummie and a great combo!
We also were able to try the Chilled Roasted Vegetable Salad and also a quinoa salad. I’m not always a fan of quinoa, but Sammy’s Quinoa salad was very tasty and the Chilled Roasted Veggie salad was amazing. I would definitely recommend the Roasted Veggie Salad. You can’t go wrong with it!
For the main course we had two types of pizza. One was a Burrata and Pesto Pizza, which my hubby fell in love with and the other was an Organic Pear and Arugula Pizza that I fell in love with. They were both delicious and I would highly recommend them!
Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza Valentine Day Pizza Kit
We finished our meal with a salted caramel pudding and mini donuts. They are both delicious, although I LOVED the salted caramel pudding. It was so good!
Sammy’s food is absolutely fantastic and it’s perfect for a date night or as a family outing. The restaurant is welcoming to both!
