We love Summer. We have about a dozen traditions and places that we consider a “must visit”. One of those is experiencing Pageant of the Masters each Summer. I love Pageant of the Masters. It is an experience I look forward to every year. This year we plan on taking both kiddos. I think they’re both ready and able to sit through the entire show.

What is  Pageant of the Masters? It  is  one incredible 90 minute outdoor experience that showcases “living pictures”. These “living pictures” are incredible re-creations of  classic and contemporary works of art. Real people pose to look exactly like their counterparts in a larger than life setting. This year’s theme is, “The Pursuit of Happiness”. Pageant starts on Wednesday, July 8th and ends August 31st. Tickets start at $15 for weekday shows.

It is an  incredible and I’m really not doing it justice in my description. It is one of those things that you have to see with your own eyes to believe! It is a perfect date night or family night, with kids 7 and up. I can’t recommend it enough.

The show tends to sell out quickly but you can still purchase tickets here.

This is part of a sponsored campaign with Being Latino and Honey Maid.  However, all opinions expressed are my own.

I love Summer. It’s a time to be with friends, family, and enjoy the outdoors. One of the things we most look forward as a family is celebrating our country’s independence. As a Mexican-American, I enjoy the blending of both cultures. We celebrate the 4th by spending it with our family.

Last year I headed up to my sister’s cabin in Wrightwood and had a great picnic at the lake. We then headed back to her place and had a carne asada, or traditional Mexican barbecue. We barbecue carne adada, hotdogs and hamburgers. We also make potato salad, arroz, frijoles puercos, watermelon and S’mores. Yes, you can barbecue S’mores. Here’s a recipe that we love from Honey Maid

Grilled S’mores

1. Preheat grill to medium heat.

2. Place ¼ of a HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate Bar and one large JET-PUFFED Marshmallow on ½ a HONEY MAID Graham Cracker. Top with the other graham cracker half.

3. Wrap S’more in aluminum foil and then place on grill.

4. Grill for 4 to 5 minutes or until marshmallow is melted.

5. Enjoy!!!
