The Secret World of Arrietty’s Bridgit Mendler Gives Us An Inside Peek On Her Starring Role

Bridgit Mendler and my daughter

Last week my daughter and I headed up to Beverly Hills  for a very special roundtable with Bridgit Mendler . Bridgit is the star of the Disney Channel’s Good Luck Charlie and the popular Disney Movie Lemonade Month. She also voices the title role in The Secret World of Arrietty. Disney invited a few bloggers and their daughters for a very special question and answer session with Mendler . She spent some time with us dishing about her newest role and her upcoming projects.

Arrietty

The Secret World of Arrietty, which opens nationwide  in theaters on Friday, February 17th, is based on the book The Borrowers. The movie was originally released in Japan in 2010 and was a smash success in Japan as well as in other parts of the world. The animated film is sure to be a hit with the kiddos, especially with girls. We watched the movie last Friday and my daughter has still not stopped talking about it.

The roundtable was a pretty unique experience because our daughters had the opportunity to ask Bridgit questions about voicing Arrietty and the process involved. She shared that she had fun  voicing Arrietty because the character has plenty of spunk. She also shared that the actual voice over work took only 3 days and she never was with any of the other voice actors with filming. I think the process of voicing an animated film is fascinating and it was interesting to hear Bridgit share what it took to bring Arrietty to life.

Bridgit is currently starring in Disney’s Good Luck Charlie and will be releasing her first album in the summer. The Secret World of Arrietty opens nationwide on Friday, February 17th. Just in time for the holiday weekend. Stay tuned for review of the film next week.
