Butterfly House at the Environmental Nature Center and Spring Faire!

ENC Newport Beach

ENC Newport Beach

One of my favorite places to visit in Newport Beach, is the Environmental Nature Center (ENC). The ENC’s mission is to provide quality education, through hands-on experiences with nature. It is a fantastic place to visit, especially during butterfly season.

Each year the center holds an open house for its butterfly house and a spring festival. We’ve attended a few times before, and my kiddos have loved it! The butterfly house at the ENC, is Orange County’s only butterfly home and is home to butterflies and plants, that are considered native to Orange County. The Spring Faire features crafts for the kiddos, face painting, henna tattoos, storytelling, nature walks, and so much more!

Wordless Wednesday: Let’s Go Fly A Kite!

Let’s go Fly a Kite!

My friend Katie from Ocmomactivities.com has a great Summer bucket list.  One item on the list, was flying a kite. Last week, the kids and I stopped at CVS, picked up some kites and took them to Newport Beach. We all had a blast, got our feet wet and best of all, it didn’t really cost much money.  The saying is so true, sometimes the best things in life are free or nearly free 🙂

For more Wordless Wednesday fun  head over to Angry Julie Monday.

I would love to feature your photos of your outings on Wordless Wednesday. If you have any that you would like to share, please send them to mom@daytrippingmom.com
